Offline Chat Pro lets nearby Android phones send messages and talk by walkie-talkie with no internet and no mobile signal. Phones connect directly over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so you can stay in touch on a mountain, at a jammed festival or in a blackout. No account, no phone number: pick a name and a color and you are ready. KEY FEATURES

■ Finds nearby people automatically
Go online and the app finds phones on the same channel and connects by itself. It reconnects when people come back in range. Google Play services picks Bluetooth, BLE or Wi-Fi; Wi-Fi just needs to be on, with no network to join.

■ Mesh relay reaches farther
Phones in between pass messages along, so they reach people you cannot reach directly. Up to 6 phones can relay a message. If someone is out of reach, the message waits on your phone and is delivered automatically when you connect again, directly or through the mesh.

■ Group and one-to-one chat
Split groups with channels 1–99, and add a passphrase so only people who know it can join. Groups show how many people received each message; one-to-one chats show read receipts and typing.

■ Walkie-talkie (push to talk)
Press the big button and your voice reaches everyone nearby or one chosen person. Choose hold-to-talk or tap-to-toggle. It waits while others talk, shows who is speaking and plays a roger beep. Your phone's noise suppression keeps voices clear.

■ Photos and location
Photos are redrawn to 1280 px on the long side, so details like the shooting location are never sent. Share your location and the other person sees the distance and an arrow pointing your way.

■ SOS
Tap SOS on the home screen to send an alarm notification with sound and vibration to everyone on your channel, with your location attached if you allow it. SOS gets through even from muted people.

■ Privacy and safety
One-to-one messages (text, photos, voice messages, location and files) are end-to-end encrypted between the two phones (ECDH P-256 and AES-256-GCM), so relaying phones cannot read them. Compare a 30-digit safety number to make sure it is really them. Block or mute anyone. Lock the app with fingerprint, face or screen lock, hide chats in recent apps, and auto-delete old messages.

■ Know why it does not connect
The connection check looks at Nearby devices permission, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, location, notifications and battery optimization, and takes you to the right setting. While online, a notification keeps the app receiving with the screen off. A power-saving mode searches with Bluetooth Low Energy only.
