Managing a potato field is easy; managing these villagers is a nightmare.

No Toilets? Your beautiful plaza will soon be covered in "suspicious piles." Villagers will relieve themselves wherever they please.
Too Much Ale? A happy tavern quickly turns into a fight club. Drunk villagers don't work; they brawl.
Weird Traits: Some villagers refuse to bathe (stinking up the workplace), some are gossips (distracting everyone), and some are just plain lazy. Your job is to tolerate... err, manage them.
